The production of this remarkable vehicle started back in 1967, and since then this vehicle has been considered as a symbol of a muscle car. According to some sources GM is about to reveal the new Firebird and make its big comeback even bigger. Main redesign will happen on the front fascia of the vehicle. Front and rear bumpers will be reshaped as well as the headlights. Headlights will have different position than before. Those will be moved higher and next to the grille. New Pontiac Firebird will also feature new side sills which have been restyled now. Also, the quarter panel badge at the font will come changed. Interior of the vehicle will suffer some changes too. The cabin will have the new leather-covered steering wheel, new door sills and round instrument swath white graphic. Also this new model is about to get some new safety as well as standard features. So if we compare it with its predecessor, if revealed, we will find the new 2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am slightly different.
2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am powertrain
According to the rumors under the hood of the new 2016 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am we will find two engine options. The first one will be a 3.6-liter V6 capable to deliver 305 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Its maximum speed is set to 155 mph. The second one will be a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 power unit which has been used in Trans Am models. This power unit is capable to deliver 420 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque with the maximum speed of 155 mph as well, but with much better acceleration.
